Bird Watching

A great way of seeing the countryside is watching our feathered friends and their habitat, some of which is disappearing, though recently at Willington gravel pits in Derbyshire some of the less seldom seen birds are making a comeback. A few I have had the privilege of seeing or hearing at Willington (some are not rare) are:-

Marsh Harrier

Little Egret

Cetti's Warbler

Bullfinch

Reed Bunting

Sparrrow Hawk

Great Tit

Blue Tit

Long Tailed Tit

Fieldfare

Tufted Duck

Teal

Widgeon

Grey Heron

Willow Warbler

Chiffchaff

Blackcap

Great Crested Grebe
